The player has a USB 2.0 port that can be used for data transfer and charging battery for the player. Also included is a port for headphones and a stereo line-in port to record from an external sound source. Control volume, play / pause and record buttons can be found on the sides along with the most used interface object, the book 3-directional wheel that is used to navigate through songs and access to other options too.
To select the songs you want to play, simply push the wheel once and select exploration to access stored files. The player supports MP3, WMA and WAV. However, the point here being, you can also use this player as a portable storage device.

A very useful feature is that the Neeon supports folders and all your music can be transferred to a simple "drag and drop" method, but only a single directory level support is provided. Apart from playing music stored, you can also FM radio and save up to 32 favorite stations. Although we do not have that many FM stations from now, it's always best to be prepared for the future. Reception and radio playback is quite impressive.
Also offered is a voice recorder that can be used for live recording or radio playback. Now you can sleep during those boring lectures and still not miss anything. Her dream is limited only by the amount of free space you have. But with 5 GB on board, it will be a repeat length. You can also record music from an external audio source like a CD player using the line in recording mode.
Use
The handling is pretty simple, considering that get used to the scroll wheel that can be irritating at times. Playback quality is good, but not as good as the iPod or the Creative Nomad Jukebox previous case. I wonder why. The battery lasts about 10 hours of continuous playback on one charge.
But the most important factor here is Time. When disconnecting the USB cable after transferring music again, the Zen Neeon takes about a minute to prepare. This happens only after transferring music, so it is still acceptable. But the normal start up also takes time, about 15 seconds. And since the player does not have a "sleep mode" as the Zen Micro or the iPod, 15 seconds is very long.
The software is also slow at times. For example, when browsing through music, which is about three seconds to move to the agenda. That means about 30 seconds to go to 10 lines. Pressing "Play", it takes approximately 2-3 seconds to start playing. And when recording, it takes about five seconds before it really starts Zen Neeon recording.
Also, you can listen to music when the player is connected to the USB port of your computer. As an idea does not include an AC adapter in the package there is no way to carry and use the Zen Neeon, at the same time. It also takes about 2-3 hours to fully charge when plugged into a USB port.
The Zen Neeon is not touchpad, no removable battery, no color screen, and to top it up, has a very small screen can only display four lines of text. Looking for your library music three lines at once and that too with a delay of three seconds, is a severe pain in the wrong place. The music playback screen, only the title track on the screen. If you want to know the artist or album, you're out of luck.
Conclusion
The aim of Zen Neeon is simplicity and ease of use. But for Rs. 12 900 / -, this is certainly not the best option around. It's a decent audio player, but has its own share of mistakes. We use Creative players before and complained that this player is really up to the standards they set for themselves. All irritating about this player that we have mentioned are not at all what we expect from Creative. And the high price is not good either. There are better options around and you can afford to give this one a slip.
