Lcd Light

The Club 107, Crawley, Sussex, United Kingdom – Sound & lighting installation

The first time I visited the place at Club 107 was just a shell empty. It's hard to imagine how it becomes a nightclub in Sussex in full operation, but after three months of hard work the place opened its doors to public with great success.

The brief was simple: high quality sound and an awesome disco light show to match.

The Club 107 Sound System

Starting with the sound system, we opted for a sound system by Funktion. Systems renowned for their high quality and visually stunning, Funktion think that could be offered the right fit for the venue. On the dance floor sound system consisting of four speakers Funktion One Res2SH flown from the ceiling, with two twin Funktion One F221 21 "containers under. Funktion One speaker Res2SH offer a fairly narrow spread, thereby getting concentrate the sound on the dance floor area, without spilling outside the bar too. The speakers were driven by two amplifiers MC ², the E25 and E45. These were in turn controlled by a system processor and an XTA DP424 XTA C2 compressor limiter, audio mixer with a Formula FF6000 in the DJ booth.

The sound peripheral (filling surround sound system) was slightly more complex, with additional 7 areas separately defined. First, there are four individual VIP rooms, each requiring its own volume control. For these, the Bose system is specified, giving a high sound quality of compact enclosures. The first three quarters of the area used DS100 mount the speakers Bose, with the last room with a Bose Freespace 3 system. Each room also was equipped with a unit volume RL1 cloud remote control enabling customers to control the volume in your room independently.

Next were the top and the bottom bars, dance floor and high school. In these areas opted for a number of (EV) Electrovoice ZX1 speakers. Powered by QSC GX3 and GX5 amps, these speakers offer a perfect solution of good quality, but no sound overwhelming to peripheral areas.

The Club 107 Disco lighting system

Turning to the lighting system, We had the challenge of creating something impressive, but only, in order to permanently place the head and shoulders above its competitors. With its ceiling high enough, the Club 107 was a perfect candidate for an LED ceiling. After some discussions and amendments, it was decided that we would build custom LED matrix to run the entire length of the roof and down one wall, facing DJ's box. Covering a total area of 90 square meters, this would provide one of the most impressive disco lights in the area.

The ceiling itself was composed of 1850 RGB LED, which covers the 18m long and 5m wide area. Each of the LEDs is adjustable, allowing us to create an infinite variety of patterns, graphics and effects. Within the area of the roof of LED, also installed a number of disco conventional lighting effects to add a further impact more to light. These comprised of 8 Robe CT ClubSpot 300 head phones, and 8 Martin Atomic 3000 strobes. Also added two custom built UK 300mW green laser, a system of Fog Club Martin and Martin AF-1 fan to circulate the smoke. In the light the stage area, two ClubWash 300 CT Robe moving heads were installed, and two ClubSpot Robe 300 CT is placed on the secondary dance floor. Peripheral LED lighting was also added, with 48 Octostip Battons LED placed in the area the bar and balcony edges.

Control of illumination was provided by a system based computer software, Ecue. This gave us the flexibility to schedule whole system in one computer, with different areas to be controlled separately. He also gave us the ability to run graphics and low resolution video LED ceiling. The DMX was issued using seven Ecue Butler devices, giving us a total of fourteen universes of DMX.

To end on a visual system is composed by three LCD projectors from a computer that is loaded with Arkaos Midi. Two screens are custom built at the edges of the dance floor, while a third electrical control rear projection screen was suspended on the edge of the dance floor. This allowed the place to close a section of the club by reducing the screen and use as a divisor. As we used a rear projection screen, allowing customers of both sides of the divide to see pictures and graphics being projected.

Finally,

In general, the finished product is as impressive as expected. All items worked together to create a complete clubbing experience, with a high standard once again be prepared for what is expected of the industry overnight.
