Winning the popularity contest is TomTom, whose brilliant combination of ease of use and innovative features attracted 50 percent of buyers of satellite navigation satellite in Europe last year. This is a huge percentage considering how brands and models that are available to choose from now.
But with Tom Tom reporting a 83 percent drop in profits this week, and over-reliance on frivolous features, has relied on the reputation of much that the real value of money?
Model is difficult to get away from Tom Tom Go. It is by far the satellite navigation device more popular in the UK and may be seen as the 'iPod of Apple in its class.
For part of the reason Tom Tom posted a 83 percent decline in earnings this week is that most people who want a satellite navigation probably have gone and bought one, and about half of them supported the idea of a Tom Tom Go.
All TomTom can do now is to defend against a growing number of rivals to lower prices (it looks very safe in that respect) and then continue adding features to persuade people who have older devices for satellite navigation upgrade to the new – features such as playback music and photos that almost every manufacturer seems to have PND, but can not adequately explain why.
