Step 2: Question - Decide if you need time actual reliability of the signal? A common complaint about GPS systems is a sign of abandonment without notice.
This is especially common to see GPS models with older chipsets. This problem can be somewhat resolved, ensuring that only use their GPS clock in places where there is a clear and unobstructed view of the sky - I mean, not about buildings or trees.

Step 3: Consider the comfort and style and "coolness" While tons of features are probably the main reason to buy a GPS watch, First, if you like to wear your watch in a casual atmosphere and the sport then it goes without saying that should find one you like the look of. A note on the power Let's make one thing clear. GPS clocks suck a lot of juice! Fortunately, many models use rechargeable batteries.
There are generally two types of GPS sports watch - Which is placed in the wrist and that require you to connect an external device to your body. The type of watch are almost always refillable, while GPS clocks generally use external batteries AA or AAA.
Most provide around 8-14 hours of continuous GPS monitoring and allow the GPS is off when no are needed in order to save energy.
For ultra distance runners, even 15 hours may not be sufficient. Luckily off a spare battery in an external GPS is a trivial task, even in the running. For everyone else, I guess 8 hours of GPS time is more than enough.
A Note on the Use of Water as fire and cats, GPS watches do not mix well with water. Most units can survive a few spills, or accidental fall in the kitchen sink, but the use of your watch for swimming or diving is definitely not recommended and the reception can not be expected to be accurate, in these circumstances.
This is unfortunate for triathletes that a GPS watch would be a valuable tool for recording and evaluation of their performances in various disciplines
