Locate 'Garmin' Feature – Can be used for backpackers?
I'm going to buy a GPS and I've done my homework. I'm leaning towards the Garmin Nuvi 755T, but I hope someone can answer this question. I'm getting for my wife and I do know that the units are designed for outdoor use but … If I use the "Locate feature (the feature that tracks the position of your vehicle once it is removed from the mountain), I can take the gps" me in my backpack, hike and camp for miles in the woods, and then I will return to the car? In other words, to track my position off the road and had time returning to the car if there are no roads to use? What if you turn it off? Will it save the position for me to turn back and return the car? Thanks in advance.
