What type of portable generators need?

When I think of portable generators, I think of something that can generate energy in case of emergency or in a place without power (in mountains), which can be performed. Well, with a little research, did not take me long to discover that there is more than portable generators, and can be divided into three different styles. They are:

  1. Recreation
  2. Emergency
  3. Professional

So lets take a look at each of these categories so that you can find the best portable generator for your personal needs.

Portable generators Recreation
Now, I do not know what kind of law, portable generators can have the comfort of your home, no matter where you go. But beware. There is nothing worse than being in a remote camp and have someone stand up, set his shop and then start the noise generator so they can see a movie. It needs peace that is one with nature. When abroad, stick to a recreational generator. Usually small, low power and do not make as much noise as an emergency generator or professional.

The most common sizes that fall recreational generator is 1000 watts and 2000 watts. The smaller of the two is good for the operation of just one or two items from the time, the largest usually allowed to run multiple devices simultaneously. But always be aware of how much power each appliance is, each must have a plate on the back that lets you know your power, that way you can disconnect and reconnect appliances as needed without overloading your generator.

Portable Emergency Generators
The modern world is very dependent on electricity, and although it may be a family fun night sitting in the dark with candlelight or just a fireplace, a lack of power could cause some real problems. Security systems can fail, the food may go lose, basements can flood, and if you live in the country in its own right, usually loses its water, along with power. These can be real problems if power is for an extended period of time. To resolve these problems, many people use portable generators as an emergency, a backup generator and recreation little, will do the trick!

Now, to know how much energy you need if your power goes out, you can calculate that the long road looking all necessary apparatus and by counting the total wattage, or use a general rule.

Middle portable generators (30000 – 6000 watts) allows you to power multiple devices, however, any device that has a motor (refrigerator, furnace, sump pump, freezer) has more power and you do not want run two of them at the same time, in this small of a generator. You would have to turn the main applications you need to run. Thus, the cost is less, but it takes more effort to keep things moving.

If you want more power, can move up to the 7000 – 9000 watt range, this will allow power of several rooms or a couple of large motor equipment at one. But even this size is not enough if you want to run an air conditioner.

If you want central AC, you have to get the extra large portable generators are 10,000 watts. They restored power to most of your home, assuming your house is not very large. But if you are running a central air conditioner, check the amount of energy that the AC has to ensure that you get a generator that is large enough.

Professional generators
These portable generators are typically used on a job site, and the size is essentially the same as for the emergency generators. You have to consider the size of the job is and how much equipment and tools needed by the generator of power. Professional generators are typically a bit more robust than their counterparts house emergency, they are designed to withstand under the harshest conditions.

Personally, when abroad, I need to power a coffee maker, TV and mini fridge. But it has been in many outlets in black, I like the idea of the generators portable emergency. Especially having lived in the country and know what it's like to melt snow in a wood stove only to clean a bath! But what about you, Do you have any need for a portable generator?
